While any type of collision could run the risk of placing the safety of everyone involved in jeopardy, few types may be as dangerous as those involving a wrong way driver. Head-on crashes that occur when a driver shifts into the opposite lanes of traffic could leave those involved with life-altering injuries or cause loved ones to experience the untimely loss of someone close. One person had died and two others suffered injuries during a recent car accident involving similar circumstances in Minnesota.

Accident reports

According to reports, the incident took place around 3:15 a.m. on a recent Sunday. Authorities say it occurred when, for reasons unknown, the driver of a northbound car suddenly crossed into and began traveling north in southbound lanes of traffic. The driver of a southbound car was reportedly unable to react in time to avoid collision and proceeded to crash head-on with the first vehicle soon thereafter.

Authorities have advised that a passenger in the second vehicle died at the scene of the incident. Two other occupants in this vehicle were both transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. No further information was provided as to why the driver who caused the crash might have exhibited such negligence and reports indicate that the incident remains under investigation.

Injury and loss

A car accident involving similar types of negligence could carry dire or even fatal ramifications. Those who suffer severe harm or sudden loss in such an incident may be left in search of answers and they could consider retaining the services of an attorney for guidance in evaluating all their available legal avenues. In doing so, a person in Minnesota could obtain much needed guidance in preparing to seek the full amount of restitution entitled through a claim against the party deemed responsible.
